Thing 1 Delicious Post

A shot of my Delicious bookmarks as of 10/26

I am excited to use Delicious to find more great web-sites for my use!  I know looking at results from a google search  can be overwhelming and I'm sure that working from a list of sites produced by people will be more focused.  I am sorry that I don't have more time to spend finding more web-sites to mark, but know I'll find more as I continue through this course.

Thing 1 - Word Shortcuts

This was a notesheet for my algebra class that I played around with for this assignment.

I tried most all of the shortcuts in this lesson, though many will not show-up since they are an action.  I found the Ctrl - A, and triple clicking on a word very helpful in saving time.  I will not have to try and hold down and scroll on my laptop anymore!

I was able to teach my son the Shift - F3 shortcut and he was quite impressed.  We both have typed articles with the Caps Lock on by accident and that would have been great to undo the typing.  Instead, we both had to retype the work we had done.

The third shortcut I found very useful is the Windows key - M.  I love it!  Along with the B and W to blackout the screen during a powwerpoint.  I have yet to be able to use powerpoint in my classroom, but after Christmas, I have been told that I will have a dataprojector in my room... I love being able to pose a thought and then blanking the screen to give the kids time to think about it!

Ooops

Guess I didn't save the post!  I am getting really tired of repeating myself.

I like the blogs that have info about the "speaker".  I guess I like to know who I am listening to...

Schools would be overwhelmed with posts and it would be a full-time job to keep up with postings if there was one BIG blog for a school.  Individual teachers are able to maintain a blog... my "next-door neighbor" at school had a blog for her Pre-Calc class a few years back.  She has since given up on the idea.  I can't remember why.  I know she tried to use Facebook as a tool with her students also...

With blogs, everyone and anyone can tell the world what they think and there is no-one to stop them...

21 Things – Getting Started

I hope this class will inspire me to use more technology in my classroom.

Plus, I really hope to catch up with my kids(at home)...

I'm tired of them talking over my head about this stuff...
